  Merna Forster gave a presentation about Canadian heroines, for children and parents attending World Thinking Day celebrations. The event marked the joint birthday of Lord and Lady Baden-Powell , when Girl Guides and Girl Scouts around the world focused on international friendship. For the evening at Century Public School in Ottawa, Merna talked about some of the women featured in her book 100 Canadian Heroines: Famous and Forgotten Faces.
  
  The girls then designed commemorative stamps for their favourite heroines. You can check out some of the artwork done by the Girl Guides.

  On International Women's Day, Merna Forster was the guest of hosts Derick Fage and Catherine Marion on the television show Daytime. Merna shared a few inspirational stories from her book 100 Canadian Heroines: Famous and Forgotten Faces.   Merna Forster autographed copies of her book 100 Canadian Heroines: Famous and Forgotten Faces at a presentation on the Fourth Stage. As part of the community programming at the National Arts Centre, Ottawa Storytellers presented Women of Courage. The performance depicted the experiences of Marie Anne Lagimodière and other courageous women.
