party Contest on October 18, 2004

On October 18 we asked visitors to tell us who their favourite Canadian heroine was, and why. One of the entries received on Oct. 18 was picked at random and awarded a copy of the book 100 Canadian Heroines: Famous and Forgotten Faces. Vanessa Wilton of Gander, Newfoundland was our winner. She told us "My favourite Canadian heroines are Roberta Bondar because she was the first Canadian woman to go into space and Kim Campbell because she was the first woman prime minister of Canada."
